Our Goals

Through our Learning Means the World Curriculum, pupils develop geographical knowledge, enquiry skills, and a deeper understanding of the relationships between people and places. Our curriculum encourages critical thinking, independent research, and reflection on environmental issues, fostering a sense of global awareness and responsibility.

Why Geography Matters

Learning geography enriches children’s understanding of the world and equips them with essential skills for both school and life. Pupils develop map skills, fieldwork techniques, and knowledge of physical and human processes, while gaining a greater appreciation for sustainability, climate, and cultural diversity.

Our Geography Curriculum

Our curriculum is taught through thematic units, which map out clear objectives and progression across the school. Pupils develop knowledge and skills through a combination of classroom-based lessons, practical investigations, and fieldwork.

How Geography is Taught

Geography is taught through a mix of:
-
Subject knowledge covering physical and human geography
-
Geographical skills including map work, data collection, and analysis
-
Enquiry and fieldwork activities both inside and outside the classroom
Lessons are interactive and hands-on, encouraging children to explore, question, and investigate the world around them.
