Welcome to Watson class

Jessica Watson is an Australian sailor who was awarded the Order of Australia Medal after attempting a solo circumnavigation at the age of 16. We can't think of an adventurer we'd rather be named after!

What will we be learning this year?

Autumn Term - Mission Control, Go With The Flow, You're Not Invited

We start the year with a communication project, Mission Control, that looks the Earth and beyond.

Go With The Flow, a science based theme, focuses on life processes such as the circulatory system.

Lastly, we move on to the conflict driver with You're Not Invited. We take a look at the concept of invasion, with a particular focus on the Romans.

Spring Term - Pharoah Queen, Come Fly With Me! America, The Rescuers

The first project of the Spring term is Pharoah Queen, which looks at the inspirational life of Hatshepsut.

Our culture theme is Come Fly With Me! America,  an exploration of the history and geography or North and Central America.

The Rescuers, tells the story of two of the lesser-known heroes of the Titanic – Molly Brown and Harold Bride.

Summer Term - Full of Beans, Been Around the World

The first topic of the Summer term has a conservation theme. Full of Beans has a geography focus and includes an enterprise project.

Finally, Been Around the World , explores the links between the UK and Hong Kong.

The Year 5/6 topics are so engaging and we will make sure we share their learning journey with you regularly.

PE
Our PE days this term are Tuesdays and Fridays. Please remember to come to school in your PE kit (including outdoor trainers), to tape up earrings if you wear them and a bobble for long hair. We do PE in most weather (don't worry, we do stop when it gets too rainy, but not if it's cold) so please dress accordingly.
