Welcome to Bird Class

Born in Yorkshire, Isabella Bird was an explorer, writer, photographer and naturalist. She explored countries all over the world including Australia, Hawaii, China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, India and Iran. She climbed mountains, trekked through jungles, and rode for thousands of miles on horseback. She even rode on elephants! In 1892, she became the first woman to be elected as a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, what an achievement!

Autumn Term - Mission Control, Go With the Flow, You're Not Invited

Our first learning theme is Mission Control. Centred around communication, we will learn about space exploration.

Next we move on to Go With the Flow, a theme focused on life processes such as the circulatory system.

Before Christmas, we will will complete our conflict based theme, You're Not Invited, learning about invaders and settlers.

Spring Term - Pharaoh Queen, Come Fly With Me! America, The Rescuers

The first project of the Spring term is Pharaoh Queen, an exploration of one of the greatest Egyptian pharaohs, Hatshepsut.

Our culture theme is Come Fly With Me! America, which looks at the geography and history of Central and North America.

The Rescuers is the story of the heroes of the doomed ship The Titanic.

We can't wait to share our learning with you!

PE
Our PE days are Tuesdays and  Wednesdays. Please come to school in your PE kit on those days. Remember outdoor trainers, to tape up earrings if you wear them and a bobble for long hair. We do PE in most weather (don't worry, we do stop when it gets too rainy, but not if it's cold) so please dress accordingly. Please note, our outdoor session has changed to Thursday afternoon.
