Kiveton Park Meadows Junior School

We take care, we show care.

Visit from Liz Millions

Liz Million a published author and illustrator visits our school on Thursday 15th June 2017.

Thanks to the money raised on World Book Day and other fundraising events this year organised by our Reading Stars, the children at Kiveton Park Meadows had the opportunity to meet published author and illustrator, Liz Million.  The children were all excited to meet her and thoroughly enjoyed listening to her funny anecdotes whilst she gave them an insight into the work of an illustrator and an author.

Liz certainly inspired our children as she met each year group in special workshops. Year 3 children created some crazy plants, characters and tortoises linked to their class novel Esio Trot. Year 4 created some amazing rainforest animals linked to their class novel, The Great Kapok Tree. Year 5 studied sea creatures linked to their Filey trip next week, whilst the Y6 children worked on creating illustrations of dinosaurs linked to their story writing where they travel back in time.

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for supporting our fundraising efforts this year- we all had a memorable and inspiring day!
