On 5th Feb 2014, Class 5NP, visited Sheffield University where they were scientists for the day as part of their science topic, 'Larger than Life'. The children learned about how creatures have adapted to their environment. They looked at parts of insects under microscopes, conducted experiments to investigate which habitats beetles and woodlice preferred, handled insects that have adapted to avoid predation, and visited the university's museum where they learned about how creatures have adapted to survive in their environments. The children had a fantastic day and didn't want to leave. Thank you to Dr F Hunter and her team for a fabulous day!
