School Closure

Well done to all the children in 4ML for continuing their learning at home. I can see your results from Times Tables Rockstars and Bedrock Vocabulary. You are all doing very well! Keep it up! I have listed below a suggested daily routine to keep yourself active. I will keep this page up to date everyday to change the daily workout and different activities for each week. I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

9am - PE with Joe Wicks ( This is a really good way to start your day!

9:30am - Daily workout. A mixture of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. See this below. This is also a good time to practise your weekly spellings which can also be found further down this page. Try to write sentences which include the weekly spellings.

10:00 - 10:45am - This week our maths focus is shape. Explore shape around your house. How many different shapes can you find? Try dismantling boxes to see their nets. Can you create a net for a 3D shape? Can you build a model building using shape? There is also Maths Shed and Times Tables Rockstars. The links to the websites are below. You should also check out a new website called Numbots. It uses the same login details as your TT Rockstars account. See the link below.

11:00 - 12:00pm - Write a character description from one of your favourite books. You could even choose a character from The Wind in the Willows. Think about all the features that would make a good character description and write, edit and improve a section each day this week. You could even create a fabulous neat copy at the end of the week with a picture of your character!

1:00pm - Reading. Spend some time reading a good book!

1:30pm - Get creative! Search Pinterest with your interests in mind. You will find some fantastic ideas for creative projects and activities! Tip: Look at these in advance as you might need to get some materials together.

3:00pm - Reflect. What went well today? Is there any work you need to revisit?

Get creative! Our topics for Spring term:

Computing - Creating digital literacy using Photo Story and Coding using Scratch. Why not try out a new coding app from Apple called Swift Playgrounds. You will really enjoy it! You will need a MacBook or an iPad.

Science - The digestive system looking at what happens to our food. Tooth decay and how this happens. We did an experiment in class using six different liquids. Why not try a similar experiment using the same liquid but different brands? E.g Orange juice. Living things and their habitats looking at minibeasts. Why not go on a mini beast hunt in your garden and see what you find. You could then create a classification key and also a food chain for this. You could also look at how environments change and how this can cause danger to living things and habitats.

DT - Pizza making. Year 4 were going to be conducting a pizza enterprise in Spring term. Why not have a go at making a pizza for lunch?

Geography - Mountain ranges, biomes and volcanoes. You could create a model showing the mountain ranges in Europe, create a model of a volcano or even show your favourite animal in a model of their biome.

Class Theme

This year our class theme is 'Antarctica' and our class mascot is Percy the penguin.

Each week I will choose a star of the week based on attitude to learning, good behaviour and work. The star of the week will have the opportunity to take Percy home for the weekend and record the exciting adventures they have had together.

P.E Days: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday.  If your child has pierced ears please ensure they can remove the earing's themselves, or come to school on P.E Days without them.  Staff are not allowed to remove them.
