This term the children will be learning about the history of Kiveton and how the village has grown and changed. Our Topic is called, 'Kiveton, a village through time.' They will be learning about the coal mining industry and why Kiveton Colliery was demolished.
As part of their learning they will be visiting The National Mining Museum on Monday 26th September. We will be posting photographs of our visit and the work the children have done.
Later in the term the children will be learning about life in Kiveton during the second world war. They will be finding about children who were evacuated to Kiveton from Brighton. The children will be asking family and friends if they have any information, photos or artefacts which they could bring into school to show the rest of the class.
