Homework due in: Our next homework is due in on Friday 17th November. Make sure you learn your times tables and spellings for the tests every Friday. This year we will start on a times table and only move on if you get 12 out of 12! Can you learn all of your times tables? Let's get into really great habits right away and complete your Reading Quest every single day!

Our Class Theme

This year our class theme is All Around the World. Our Reading Quest takes place in locations from Around the World in 80 days. Students aim to reach San Francisco by Friday to get a DD!

Each week I will choose a star of the week based on those who have completed their Reading Quest and had a great attitude. The star of the week will have the opportunity to take our class mascot (Masai!) home for the weekend and record the exciting adventures they have had together.

Our Topic This Term - Full Steam Ahead
In the Autumn Term our Topic is Full Steam Ahead. In history we will look at life in the period of the industrial revolution and changes that took place during this period. In geography we will consider changes to the empire that these changes facilitated. In science we will examine forces and the importance of these in the steam age!

PE

Our PE days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Please remember to have your PE kit, including suitable footwear for outdoors! Please make sure earing's are removed.  If your child cannot remove the earing's themselves, please make sure they come to school without them on P.E Days - staff are not allowed to remove them.

Homework
Every week the children will have twelve spellings to learn as well as multiplication and/or division facts. Times tables and spelling tests take place on a Friday morning. If you lose your spellings you can download them from the 'Homework' section at the bottom of this page.

Children are expected to read at least five times per week. Please could parents/carers complete home school reading records for children to hand in each day in order to complete their reading quest.

Talking homework will also be set on a fortnightly basis. The purpose of this homework is to provide children with some ideas and support for when they complete their Friday write.

The children are also provided with a homework grid. this grid is made up of many different activities designed to support our class topic. Children are encouraged to choose a homework which appeals to them and present their work in an interesting and creative way. These pieces of work are due in fortnightly.

Friday- Spelling test. Times tables / division facts test.
Alternate Friday - Homework grid activity to be handed in.

Reading - Home reading record to be handed in daily.
